Juniors Cancel Tonight's Party

Joe Szabo, Junior Class vice-president, opened the class council meeting on October 30 with a rousing question: should the juniors have the class party which was scheduled for them November 8? Can they plan the party in that short of a length of time?

Because the council was considering a playnight, Lee Evans, party chairman, presented the pros and cons of such an idea. A discussion followed in which many ideas were considered.

Lack of time for preparation was the key factor in deciding that there will definitely not be a Junior Class Party tonight. The council has yet to decide if the party will be rescheduled or completely forgotten.

When asked about the decision, Jan Olenicki, class treasurer, replied, "A week just doesn't give us enough time to organize the party. And we're a little worried about the kids' interest in a party like this. Our last two class parties didn't have a good turnout. We don't want to spend a lot of money on just a minority of the class.

"If anyone has any suggestions or comments about a party, please tell your homeroom representative. The idea of a class party can still be considered."

The other Junior Class officers are Dave Atkinson, president, and Joanie McManus, secretary. Mr. Richard Frey and Mrs. Patricia DeGeeter are the class sponsors.
