Sports Slants

By EILEEN GOELZ

The cheerleaders appreciate the comments that have been made, and we have tried to analyze them.

We have tried to make our cheers simpler and easier to follow so that the fans can help us cheer the teams on to victory. We would welcome any other constructive ideas that students have to help us get everyone behind the teams.

The attendance at the games this year has been very good. We would like to thank all of those who faithfully followed our football teams through all of their ups and downs, especially those fans who attended the away games.

The spirit at these away games was really tremendous both during the game and on the buses. Several times people stopped what they were doing just to look up and see what all the yelling was about.

Now that winter sports are beginning everyone will have a chance to find at least one sport he will enjoy watching. There is a wide variety from which to choose‑basketball, gymnastics, swimming, and wrestling.

The teams will probably get off to a better start if many Maine West fans come out and support them. The cheerleaders will be there, will you?
