In Council

By MARTY SPERA

Dreams of class buttons and decorated wings may soon become reality. Student Council is looking into a procedure whereby each class may participate in decorating the wing of its choice, with emphasis placed on cultivating school spirit. Profits from a class button drive will then be awarded to the class demonstrating the most originality and creativity.

Council is also planning another "Breakfast with the Brass." The purpose of the breakfast is to stimulate communication between students, faculty members, and administration.

November 20 was Teacher Appreciation Day. As small tokens of gratitude, an apple and a carnation were given to each teacher, in addition to having the faculty lounge appropriately decorated.

In order to comprehend the cause of student disinterest and dissatisfaction with Student Council, forms were distributed in homeroom for student expression of criticism and suggestions for improvement. The Student Council Evaluation Committee has met twice in an effort to solve student complaints. Everyone is invited to attend these meetings, participate in discussion, and evaluate the merits of Student Council objectively and intelligently.

V‑Show participants will be reimbursed for any amount of money over $10 which was spent on costumes. One must be a member of at least two acts and show the proper receipts in order to receive the $10 excess reimbursement.

A symbol of the Maine West Warrior will be embedded in the center of the new spectator gym.

Any student with criticism, ideas for ways of improvement, or general comment concerning the function of Student Council, is encouraged to approach Council with his opinions.
