Gail Directs Senior Play;
John Heads Boys' Club

If you see a 56" senior madly waving her arms at her fellow students, don't worry‑it's only Gail Peters, one of this year's student directors of the Senior Class play.

Gail has been involved in dramatics and the theater for several years. She was the director of a play given by the Young Footlighters. She became involved in the Footlighters in eighth grade. Gail also had a part in "Arsenic and Old Lace," last year's all school play. She has been on the makeup crew in most of the other school theater productions.

Gail said of Maine, "The kids were just great. They really made me feel welcome. It's just great." Gail transferred to Maine from St. Pat's her junior year.

When asked how she became student director, Gail replied, "I submitted my name to Mr. Boyer. He evaluated the kids by their previous experiences and theatrical background, and I was selected."

Gail said the most unusual thing about herself is her eyes. "One is blue, the other is green. I think that's pretty unusual."

Seeing that decorations are just right, making sure the tickets are printed in time, and organizing the Post Office are all jobs John Lovering '69, president of Boys' Club, is busy with this month.

"The plans for the Christmas Formal are running right on schedule," John happily reports. "This year's dance should be a great success!"

"Being president of Boys' Club keeps me busy," John admits. "It doesn't leave me much spare time. I especially miss the extra hours of sleeping."

"Being active in clubs makes school more enjoyable. It keeps the days from getting boring and breaks up the monotony," John claims.

As for sports, John has played on the football team all four of his years at Maine West.
