MW Bucketmen Make 2‑3 Record

The Warrior netmen will face the New Trier West Cowboys tonight at 8 p.m. at New Trier West in search of Maine's first conference win.

On December 13 the Warriors lost a heartbreaker to the Niles North Vikings, 52‑48. Maine fell behind in the second period but came back to tie the score at 36‑36 by the end of the third period. The score was even the rest of the way, but Niles got the last clear shot and sunk it to come out on top.

With less than two seconds remaining, Randy Hann '69 sank a two‑pointer to lift Maine West over Palatine 70‑68. George Jellen '70 was Maine's high scorer with 23 points and Kim Freeman '69 finished with 20.

On December 6 the Warriors were crushed by the Maine South Hawks 57‑28. Maine West trailed by only nine points at the half, but in the third period the Hawks recorded 15 points while the Warriors netted one.

The netmen traveled to Arlington on November 30 and were defeated by a score of 60‑43. Maine West opened the season with a 54‑41 win over the Falcons of Forest View.
