Despite a determined effort by several members of the team, the Warrior wrestling squad lost to the Niles North Vikings last Saturday. The final score of the meet was 27‑13.

Starting it out right for the Warriors at 95 pounds was sophomore Bruce Beam with a 4‑0 win over his opponent. At 103 and 112 pounds the Warriors were not as fortunate as Jim Webster '69 and Bill Beam '70 both lost their matches.

At 120 pounds Rick Fielden '69 managed a 2‑0 win over his man, while at 127 the best Kevin Sherwood '69 could get was a tie. At 133 and 138 pounds respectively, Bruce Barringer '70 and Bob Wolfgram '70 lost with scores of 4‑2 and 4‑0.

At 145 pounds Steve Waecker '69 gained a 5‑5 tie with his opponent, and at 154 Jim Morrison '69 won his third match of the year.

At 180 pounds and heavyweight, Bill Tillman '70 and Dave Boesche '70 both lost to end the meet for the Warriors.

The Warriors fared better against Morton West on the previous Saturday when they beat their wrestlers by a score of 26‑12.

Bruce Beam opened things with a 6‑4 loss to his opponent. However, the next four Warriors all did the trick. Jim Webster and Bill Beam at 103 and 112 pounds won their matches by scores of 6‑2 and 6‑4.

At 120 pounds Rick Fielden won his match 8‑3, and at 127 Kevin Sherwood managed a 7‑0 win. At 133 pounds Bruce Barringer lost a close match 3‑2 while at 138 Bob Wolfgram won 2‑0.

At 145 Steve Waecker defeated his opponent 7‑0 while at 154 Jim Morrison managed a convincing 16‑0 victory over his opponent. At 165 and 180 pounds, Tom Mietus and Bill Tillman both lost, while heavy­ weight Dave Boesche capped the meet for the Warriors by pinning his opponent.
