The varsity gymnastics squad's next meet will be held at Glenbrook North on January 11 which will begin its new conference season.
On December 10 the musclemen lost a dual meet against Oak Park by a score of 81‑70.
The Warriors won three individual first places while taking two team apparatus events. Jim Janssens '69 won the trampoline. Bob Suda '69 won the parallel bars, and Bob Moehling '69 won the sidehorse.
On the high bar Jim Janssens took second, and Bob Gillespie '70 placed fourth. Bob Suda won the parallel bars with 6.0 points and was the only Warrior to place in the event.
Al Van Ornum '69, Tom Tyler '69, and Bob McNabb '70 took fourth, fifth, and sixth in the free exercise, which is a new event this year. Bob Moehling won the sidehorse with a score of 6.2, and Mark Forkins '69 placed fourth.

In the trampoline Jim Janssens came up with 6.9 points to win the event. Tony Kurtz '70 took second place for Maine. Bryan Ways '69 and Jerry Allegretti '69 took third and fourth on the rings respectively.
On November 30 the Warriors dropped their opener to Prospect 95‑64. In a triangular meet a week later they beat West Leyden 85‑84 but bowed to Forest View who had 95.
The sophomores had no better luck as they were defeated by Oak Park 39‑25. The only winner for the Warriors was Tom Jackson '71 who took the sidehorse. The only second place finisher for Maine was Vie Petik '71, also on the sidehorse.
