The Broadway musical comedy hit, Pajama Game, is going to be this year's all school musical. This annual affair will be presented in the Maine West auditorium by the Music Department on the nights of March 14, 15, 21, and 22. All seats are reserved. Prices of the tickets will be $1.50 and $2.
Pajama Game is based on the book 7 1/2 Cents by Richard Bissell. It involves a union dispute in a pajama factory. The female lead is the employee's representative. She tries to negotiate a 7 1/2 cent raise for the workers with the plant manager. The rest of the play deals with the love interest between the two in this musical comedy.
Tryouts for female singing parts were heard during the week of January 6 through 10. Boys' tryouts were held this past week. Mr. Robert Kuite, musical director, announced that there will be student directors and assistants also. Rehearsals are scheduled to start on January 20.

Acting and singing parts are going to be double‑cast where possible. Approximately 150 students will be involved in the presentation of the musical. Some will only have singing parts, while others will be both singing and acting.
The musical consists of 10 scenes. An original set is being designed for Pajama Game by Mr. George Blanas of the Art Department.
When asked for whom or what the proceeds of the musical would benefit, Mr. Kuite explained that there probably wouldn't be any profit. He went on to say, "When all the costumes and scenery, etc., had been paid for, the musical will have cost the music department approximately $4,000. The royalties, which just give us permission to do the show, cost $1,200 alone."
Last year the Music Department presented Bye Bye Birdie as its annual musical.
