'Out of the Frying Pan'
Sizzles Friday, Saturday

"Out of the Frying Pan," this year's Senior Class play, will premiere tonight in the Maine West auditorium. The play described as "dazzling" in the daily bulletin, may be viewed this evening, January 17, and tomorrow, January 18, at 8 p.m.

Today is the last day to purchase tickets in the cafeteria; however, they may be obtained at the door or from any senior at a cost of $1.25. No seats will be reserved.

The story is about six jobless actors "roughing it" in a small apartment above that of a well-known Broadway producer. These actors, three men and three women, craftily try to gain an audition with the producer in hopes of being included in a new road show.

Sidney B. Whipple of the New York World Telegram calls Francis Swann's Broadway production "a gay bit of nonsense that makes an agreeable evening in the theater."

The New York Post exclaimed, "It's proven to be one of the merriest events in weeks - it has an underlying ring of truth that makes it human as well as amusing."

Earlier this year, all interested seniors were invited to try out for parts. Sixteen players were chosen, eight with double parts.

The cast includes: Marilyn Kalata, Bill Johnson, Carolyn Hummel, Jim Hoekstra, Bob Aulert, Donna Ellwanger, Janie Leis, Chris Huestis, Mary Ann Gianpetro, Alice Mott, Maureen O'Brien, John Chips, Ted Wagner, Hans Wahl, and Cliff Strom.
