Coach Joe Jobst and his 1968‑69 varsity track team will begin their indoor season with state champions Proviso West on January 28 at 4:30 p.m.
This year the Warrior cindermen boast 11 returning lettermen. They include: distancemen Gary Wolf '69, Bob Glitz '69, Dale Dreischarf '69, and Mike Wolf '69; sprinters Mark Henkes '70, Chris Drake '69, and Gerry Krainik '70; pole vaulters Gene Behrens '69, and Jim Fisher '70; hurdler Gary Pruitt '69; and high jumper Dave Marrinson '69.
Coach Jobst stated that the distances will be the strongest part of the team while the shot put and discus will be the weak spots. He added, "We will probably lose ground in the pole vault too."
According to Mr. Jobst, Maine's toughest opponents in the conference will be Niles West and Deerfield. Last year the Warriors won the Indoor Conference Meet and took second to Deerfield in the outdoor conference.
