Gymnasts Fall Short Of Glenbrook
92-88

The Warrior gymnastics team will be host to Glenbrook South today at 4:30 p.m.

On January 11 Maine West lost a close meet to Glenbrook North, 92-88. Jim Janssens '69 won the trampoline event as his routine earned 6.4 points. Tom Tyler '69 captured second place with a total of 4.1.

The sidehorse was a different story as Glenbrook swept the first three places, while Bob Moehling '69, Bob Slipke '70, and Mark Forkins '69 placed next in that order.

Jim Janssens took another first, this one in the high bar. His winning total was 7.4, and Rich Didier '69 followed with 5.9 points. Bryan Ways '69 came up with 6.5 points to win the still rings, but Glenbrook took the next three places.

West's Didier also got a second place finish on the parallel bars behind Constantine of Glenbrook South. Rich's routine total amounted to 6.4, while Bob Suda '69 and Mark Forkins finished fifth and sixth.

Glenbrook also won the free exercise as Tom Tyler, Al Van Ornum '69, and Rich Didier ended with third, fourth, and fifth place finishes.

The frosh-soph team meanwhile lost to Glenbrook North by a score of 49-36. The Warriors took first in one event and second place in another.

Carpenter of Glenbrook won the trampoline, but John Leer '72 took second with 1.8 points. The lone win for Maine was in the high bar as Rich Dancaster '71 scored 2.6 points.
