Recent Library Additions Include 'Little Theatre'

The new library wing will include new drama, speech, and conference rooms. Other new rooms include large study halls with direct access to the upper level which will be the library. A "Little Theater" and rooms to which teachers may bring their classes are also being built.

The speech and drama rooms each contain a small stage. The "Little Theater" has a larger stage, and will be used by the Social Science Department for the seminar classes as well as by other departments for smaller productions.

Several new study carrels, some having electrical outlets and some without, will be added for the students' use. A larger lounge than the previous one will also be added.

Work on the new wing began last spring. Hopefully, the wing will be ready for use by March 15.

The wing of the library extending into B‑wing now contains library offices and magazine storage. When the new wing is completed, these offices will become the Audio‑Visual Department. The part of the library extending into C‑wing will become a study hall also with direct access to the library. Some of the new library offices will be on the east side of the present library.

There will be many advantages to the new wing . Many more study areas will be available. The library will be divided into relative departmental areas. This means that the books will generally be divided into areas related to specific departments. Included will be a larger professional library.

There will be two main entrances to the new wing. One will be the present library entrance; and the other will be directly below it, near the teachers' lounge. In the center of the new library is a stairway which leads from the upper level to the lower level.

New offices will be added on the main floor. These include a Social Science office and an administrative conference room.
