During the week beginning February 3, Maine West's Brotherhood Society will sponsor the annual March of Dimes Drive throughout the school. The drive is designed to raise funds to promote research on birth defects such as polio and cerebral palsy.
Each day of the week the 34 members of this honorary society will collect donations from the students during homeroom. According to Debbie Lusk '70, secretary, the goal for the drive is $700. Last year Brotherhood collected more than $600 in four days. Because of this year's increased enrollment and a five‑day drive it is expected that more money will be contributed.
Jim Webster '69, president, expressed the hope that the students be as generous as possible in contributing to this worthwhile cause.

In order to reach the projected goal each student would have to donate only $.20
On Monday, February 10, elections will be held during homeroom to choose new members of the society. Every year three girls and three boys are chosen from each class on the basis of friendliness, non‑prejudice, and good will.
New members will be announced at assemblies kicking off National Brotherhood Week, February 17 to 21. This year's assemblies will feature a group of college students presenting the program, "Up With People."
