Driver Ed Purchases Simulators

A new teaching device at Maine East this year is a "Driver Education Simulator." Although many of the high schools in the area have one, Maine East is the first of the three Maine schools to purchase one.

The driving simulator contains a steering wheel, brake pedal, accelerator, turn

indicator, and gears. There are two types of simulators: the trailer and the unit. Maine East has the trailer simulator.

The students using the simulator watch a film and react to the driving situations being shown. All their responses are recorded. The simulator enables the students to develop better perception and timing.
