The Warrior netmen will travel to Maine South tonight as they begin their second half of the season.
On January 25 Maine lost to the conference leaders, Niles West, by a 80‑61 score. Willie Anderson '70 and Randy Breuscher '69 were the high scorers with 13 points apiece.
The night before, the Warriors upset Deerfield by a score of 46‑45. Maine led by eight points at the half; and with only two seconds left in the game, Kim Freeman '69 put in a free throw to give the Warriors the victory.
Tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 the Maine West wrestling team will meet the Hawks of Maine South.
Last Saturday the wrestlers tied Oak Park 19‑19. Bruce Beam '71 won his match 11‑10, Jim Morrison '69 overwhelmed his opponent 10‑2; Dave Boesche '70 got by with a 1‑0 win; Steve Waecker '69 won 4‑2; Tom Mietus '69 won 2‑1; and Bill Tillman '70 shut out his man 4‑0.
The Warrior matmen traveled to Deerfield the night before and handed them a 23‑21 loss.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. the varsity swim team will meet Niles West at the Maine West Pool.
In a triangular meet on January 25 Maine defeated Arlington 63‑32 and Prospect 60‑35. The Warriors won the 200‑yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.6. Skip Parent '71 was the only double winner as he took firsts in the 200 individual medley and the 400‑yard free style.
Maine also won the 400‑yard free style relay in 3:46.2 Other Warrior wins were Jim Lillquist '69 in the backstroke and Lance Kuntze '70 in the breastroke.
Tomorrow at 2 p.m. the Maine West gymnasts will move on to Maine South for a dual meet.
On Saturday, January 25, the Warriors took four firsts and went on to beat Wheeling 86‑70. Jim Janssens '69 took a first on the high bar with 7.2 points and another on the trampoline with 6.6. Tom Tyler '69 and Tony Kurtz '70 placed second and third on the trampoline.
Al Van Ornum '69 won the tumbling event with a total of 5.1 points while Rich Didier '69 won the parallel bars with 6.9. The only Warrior place on the rings was Bryan Ways '69 with 6.0 points. Bob Moehling '69 placed second on the sidehorse with 5.7 points.
