Dramatists To Perform
'Of Mice and Men'

A group of students has been working to prepare for the district drama contest to be held at Niles North High School on Saturday, February 15.

After school rehearsals of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men are serious business for Rich Wilson '69 as Lenny, Bill Jacobs '70 as George, Howard Baer '69 as Curley, Dianna Snider '70 as Curley's wife, and Jan Zabinski '70 as Candy.

Others include Craig Dudczak '69 as Boss, Chris DeVoney '71 as Whit, Mike Mlodoch '70 as Carison, and Mark Millonas '70 as Slim.

There will be six schools present at the district tournament being held at Niles North tomorrow. Among them are

Evanston and Maine East, both of which are giving interpretations of Antigone. A strong, traditional rival, Maine South, will perform The Crucible.

The three schools which deliver the best performances will advance to the sectional tournament to be held March 7‑8 at Maine South. The three best productions from that contest will then proceed to the state tournament.

Assistant director Mary Jo Gigante '70, stage manager Karen Gatsis '70, and others helped in solving some of the problems confronting the company,

Among the others helping to prevent complication from turning into confusion are Maureen O'Brien '69, makeup chairman; Kathy McCarthy '70, prop chairman; and Gail Peters '69, costume chairman.
