Pom‑Pon Squad Exhibits Talent

The 1968‑69 Pom‑Pon Squad of Maine West performed at DePaul University on February 8. The squad received an invitation to do the half‑time show for the Saturday night basketball game. It is part of DePaul's policy to invite different squads from the Chicagoland area to perform for their half‑time shows.

The performance was scheduled for a duration of 10 minutes, so the girls did four routines. They practiced the preceding week to polish their routines.

Diana Townsend '69, captain of the squad, commented. "I was surprised to be invited because I didn't think a university would ask us to perform for them. I'm glad that we had the chance, and the whole squad was really looking forward to it as much as I was. It was a good experience for all of us."

Members of the squad are Diana Townsend '69, captain; Laura Frey '69, co‑captain: Monnie Keane '69; Laurie Bard '69; Linda Wesolowski '69; Maudy Gass '69; and Jody Kinder '69.

Others are Pat Lays '70, Jan Barkell '71, Gail Russell '71, Sandy Currer '71, and Stephanie Carynski '71. Sponsor for the Pom‑Pon Squad is Mrs. Nancy Kerby.
