MW Families Host
Exchange Students

This year, instead of an AFS (American Field Service) Week, there will be an AFS Weekend on February 14, 15, and 16.

Over the weekend AFS students from other schools in the surrounding area will stay at the homes of Maine West students. The students will arrive at their hosts' homes this evening and will leave Sunday.

On Saturday the host students will take the foreign exchange students on a tour of the Borden Company in Chicago.

The exchange students staying with Maine West host families come from Arlington Heights High School, Palatine High School, and other nearby high schools. The foreign exchange students come from many parts of the world, including South America, where Doug Fager '68, last year's foreign exchange student from Maine stayed.

Cathy Newport '70, AFS Committee chairman, said that, "We are having the exchange because we have no foreign exchange student staying at Maine this year, but we wanted to keep some connection with A.F.S.
