Maine West students should not be discouraged or downhearted about the record on which the varsity basketball team stands. The players have been hustling and playing as hard as any team in the league.
The sparkplug of the Warriors is Kim Freeman '69. Kim is a magician with a basketball. His ability to dump the ball into the hands of his taller teammates baffles the opponents and occasionally his teammates. Although he is a guard, Kim scores very well. Kim would be a help on any college team.
Willie Anderson '70 is one heck of a ball player. Name it and he will do it. In recent games this talented junior has led the team in scoring, climaxed by a 19‑point performance against Maine South. When Willie's hot, Maine West goes.

Another scoring ace this year has been Randy Breuscher '69. Randy has been consistent, almost always putting in 12 to 16 points. His play has inspired the Warriors and instilled the winning spirit. Randy plays hard and is a credit to Maine.
Two Warriors who have done a good job this year are George Jellen '70 and Dennis Willison '71. These two boys have been in there every game and always help the Warrior cause.
Other Warriors who are examples of hustling are Randy Hann '69, who gets his points and plays good defense; George Horn '69, a top rebounder; Bill Markworth '69, who is a scrapper; and Gary Heist '69, who always helps.
