The annual Newcomers' party was held on Thursday, September 18. The dance was held in the cafeteria for all incoming freshmen. The Newcomers' Party is sponsored by Student Council's social committee. Cathy Leer '70 is this year's social committee chairman. Lynn Spicer '70 was in charge of the dance.

The new Freshmen Class officers were announced towards the end of the party. The new officers are Cheryl Kueker, president Jim Szabo, vice‑president; Claire Robertson, secretary; and Sue Anderson, treasurer. The class sponsors are Mr. David Grobe and Miss Susanne Horgen.

Two different groups provided entertainment for the dance. The members of David Mogan and the Fermented Grapes of Wrath are Joe Szabo '70, Mark Millonas '70, and Mark Henkes '70. The other group that played was a folk group. The group's members are Barb Kotarek '70, Pam Sommerville '70, Lynn Kwaterski '71, and Tick Burchard '72.

Coke was served throughout the dance. About 100 freshmen attended the party.
