One of the varsity cheerleaders commented, "All of the girls who tried out had a lot of enthusiasm and were really interested. Competition was tough, though; and we hope that they don't lose interest in supporting the Warriors."
During the past summer, Maine West's other cheerleaders attended a cheerleading camp to increase their skills. The girls stayed in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, for four days with cheerleaders from all over the United States.
The sophomore cheerleaders, JoDee Rowells, Carol Gigante, Sallie Lino, Sheri Lanham, Jenny Jobst, and Sandy Beyer also participated in the camp's events.
Concerning all the cheerleaders, Mrs. McCoun stated, "They're full of pep and enthusiasm, but they need the students support to help cheer the Warriors on to a victorious year."
