With the start of the school year, Mr. Miley Hotchkiss has again begun Maine West's intramural activities.

Mr. Hotchkiss, director of the intramural program, stated that the tennis tournaments and the individual golf championships are underway. No definite dates can be announced, but later in the fall touch football and soccer double elimination tournaments will be held. There will also be a cross country race for each class.

For team championships every boy is awarded a patch signifying his achievement. At the end of the year trophies are given to the two boys in each class with the highest total of intramural points.

Statistics show that last year 56 per cent of the boys at Maine West participated in intramural sports at least once. Despite many obstacles, Mr. Hotchkiss hopes that there will be a better turnout this year.
