Golfers Look Good Despite
Early Loss

The 1970 Maine West golf team has suffered a setback the weather. Due to the snow, spring vacation practice for the varsity was completely canceled and the frosh‑soph was limited to hitting indoors. The season for the team began with a match on April 8 against Arlington.

Maine West has four returning lettermen. Two of them are seniors Bob Edwards and Ed Duchaj. Randy Getsla and Gary Navratil are juniors who are also returning lettermen. The spot for fifth man is still open between the rest of the team.

Other teams in the conference also have many returning lettermen, and this will make it tougher for the Warriors. The players' outlook is cautiously optimistic, though, as is stated by senior star Bob Edwards, "If we all play pretty well, I think we will surprise a few teams and do better than we did last year."

Coach Richard Blazek's frosh-soph golfers have also been greatly hampered by the weather. Due to the fact that they have not gone out and played yet, the players who will play in the meet have not been decided as of yet. The turnout was good, and it looks like a promising season for the frosh‑soph golf team.
