Golfers Make Good Spring Showing

By JERRY HYNES

The Maine West golfing Warriors rose to the call in the early part of the season. The varsity Warriors took two out of their contests. Their one loss was so close it was ridiculous. Their frosh‑soph counterparts came up with one win and an equal number of losses.

The varsity got a big lift from Ed Duchaj '70. The '72-'73 men received a lot of help from the efforts of Tony Wherry and Kurt Klein, both '72. Wherry said,

"We have a pretty good team and a lot of talent on the way up. Coach Blazek is doing a fine job."

The golfers have been steadily improving and can definitely look forward to that spring guest, the eagle, to roost on their greens soon.

Their next meets are against New Trier West on Tuesday, April 28 and against Glenbrook North on Thursday, April 30.
