Various Clubs Hold Year-End
Banquets

Spring has arrived, and with it comes the end of the year club banquets where people who belong to more than one club often go broke. Most of the clubs will have their banquets in May.

The girls Junior and Senior Leaders will have their banquet on Tuesday, May 12, at 6 p.m. The banquet will be held at Hackney's on Lake Street in Glenview. Friday, May 9, is the last day to sign up for the banquet. The program will include a dinner of "Hackneyburgers" and the announcement of the new leader board and their initiation. Mrs. Helen Clouser is the sponsor, and Ilona Semper '70 is the president.

Ski Club will hold its banquet at Heuer's Restaurant in Rosemont on Wednesday, May 20, at 5 p.m. The last day to sign up is May 8. Included will be a smorgasbord, all you can eat dinner, special awards for deserving persons, and the announcement of next year's officers. Mr. William Moles is the sponsor with Bob Witkay '70 serving as president.

The Quill and Scroll Banquet will be held on Thursday, May 28, at 6 p.m. The banquet will be held at Heuer's Restaurant in Rosemont. The program will consist of the announcement of the new staffs for both the

Legend and the Westerner. The new Quill and Scroll members will also be initiated at the banquet. The sponsor of Quill and Scroll is Mr. George Walker. Debbie Paulin '70 is the president. Payment in the bookstore must be made by May 22.

Student Council will hold its banquet on Thursday, May 28, at the Elks Club in Des Plaines. There will be a dinner served and entertainment will be provided. The new officers will be officially installed. The sponsors of Student Council are Miss Marcia Storey and Mr. Robert Cassidy. Dave Atkinson '70 is the outgoing president.

Iota Chi Sigma, Maine's organization of contest speakers, already had their banquet on May 5. It was held in the teachers' cafeteria, and boxed chicken was served. At the informal banquet, the next year's officers were announced, and special awards given to the senior members. The supper was planned by Mr. Daryl Schultz, the club's sponsor, and Cheri Wittbold, the club's president.

Many other clubs will be holding their banquets, which will include the revealing of the officers of next year. Some of the other clubs having banquets are Thespian Society and the language clubs.
