Students Join Other Schools in
Experiment

Maine West was invited, along with seven other schools, to participate in an experiment held at Forest Hospital in Des Plaines. Nine students were selected from the student body of Maine West. They were chosen because they represented different groups from the school.

The students, Butch Benton '72, Marie Von Oepen '71, Paulette Jados '71, Larry Portman '71, Debbie Lehman '71, Rick Shanahan '71, Bob Roschke '71, Jerry Thain '71, and John Kokes '72

arrived at Forest Hospital in the morning and participated in a large group discussion. After this talk they had lunch. The students were then separated into smaller groups. In these groups they talked about their problems and got to know each other.

The major purpose of this project was to get students, who don't normally associate with one another, together. This would create better communication.
