Cherry Blossoms Bloom For
Jr. Prom May 16

The name of this year's Junior Prom will be "Sura‑O‑Matsun" which means "Cherry Blossom Festival" in Japanese. The prom will have an oriental theme.

The prom will be held in the Maine West auditorium on Saturday, May 16. It will be held from 8 to 11 p.m.

Tickets for the prom are now on sale in the bookstore, and the cost of the tickets is $3.50 per couple. Tickets must be presented at the door, and one member of each couple must have his identification card to be presented at the door. There will be no invitations given out.

Chairman of the decoration's committee is Sharon Busse '71 who hand‑made all the decorations herself. The decorations that Sharon made include a rickshaw, a large garden, a wind chime, trees with cherry blossoms, and a pond with flowers.

Guests who will attend the prom are homeroom teachers, parents of school officers, counselors, and members of the administration and school board. Prom chairmen will also attend the prom.

The chairman of the entertainment committee is Brian Ward '71; decorations chairman is Sharon Busse '71; the chairman for the refreshment committee is Patricia Tures '71; and Joann Bonaguidi '71 is publicity chairman.

The sponsors of the Junior Prom are Mr. William Meles and Mrs. June Muckle. Those who wish to help out in any way or have any questions should get in touch with Mrs. Muckle, Mr. Meles, or Jerry Palarz, president of the Junior Class.
