On Wednesday the diamondmen dropped their third straight game. They fell to Glenbrook South 9‑4 in spite of home runs by Ken Dopp and Dave Arnswald '71.
Besenhofer started without success, and then Olsen came in relief and didn't do much better. Dave Nelson '71 had more success, holding Glenbrook scoreless in the last two innings.
Although the schedule is busy, everyone concerned with the team is still upset about the Niles West dispute. If the reader hasn't heard yet, Jim Hanselman ‘71 hit a ground ball to the second baseman. There were men on first and second at the time. The second baseman bobbled the ball but recovered and threw it to first. The umpire appeared to signal the runner safe, which would load the bases. Three pitches later the umpire informed Jim that he was out. The game is still in dispute.
