With the Maine West Warrior tennis team heading into this final regular season playing week with a 13‑2 record to cling to, the varsity racketmen are anxiously awaiting the upcoming six school district meet which will be held here at the Maine West courts tomorrow at noon.
The winners of tomorrow's first two singles and first two doubles will earn the highly prestigious honor of representing their school in the state meets held in Champaign, Illinois.
Competing for the trip downstate will be singlemen Jack Williams, Dave Keehn, and Ron Finstad. All three are seniors. Top racketmen who will be playing in the doubles matches will be Tim Wayman '70 and Steve Jackson '71, along with Doug Lauffenburger '71 and Mark Dombrowski '71.
Letterman Wayman, commenting on the possible downstate visit said, "A great

team effort by the guys on the squad have given us our good record. I think this momentum we have will continue throughout the districts. We have a very good chance for sending some of our guys downstate."
A week ago today the Warriors continuned on their winning ways as they trounced their township rivals Maine South by a score of 4‑1.
This victory marked the first time in the school's history that Maine West beat Maine South in a high school tennis meet.
In the meet itself, Dave Keehn won his two matches, 6‑1, 6‑1, as Ron Finstad also won his matches 6‑1, 6‑2. While Keelm and Finstad were winning their singles, Tim Wayman and Steve Jackson defeated their opponents 6‑3, 6‑0 in the doubles. Lauffenburger and Dombrowski also won their doubles 6-4, 6‑1.
