In making a Broadway musical, many things must go on behind stage to make the show a success. Such things as costumes, scenery, programs and music do, often times, not get as much attention as they deserve.
The people behind these things exert much time and effort in the show with their only reward being the final production of the show. Since the show is always done well, the success is great.
This year is the first time a student has designed the costumes completely for a musical at Maine West. Jan Whitehouse '70 designed the clothes, and they are on display on the second floor of E‑wing. The time period for these clothes is the late 1870's, Victorian style.
The cover was designed by Chris Ledig '70. He also has had many other art achievements through his four years at Maine West.
The faculty adviser for art in Annie Get Your Gun is Mr. George Blanas. He designed all the sets for every Broadway musical at Maine West. Every year he starts from scratch and builds a beautiful set which always compliments the musical. He does a lot of work on the Christmas Concert and graduation also.

Mr. Robert Pelikan is the head of construction of the scenery and props. Every year 'these props have to be remade. This is a necessary and important part of the musical.
Mrs. Mildred Heidorn organizes and practices the pit orchestra. A good orchestra is also essential to a good musical. The orchestra contains the best musicians, and it is an honor to be in the pit orchestra.
Tickets for Annie Get Your Gun are on sale now. This year there is a new system of order blanks for reserved tickets. This is in hope that more residents of Des Plaines will have a chance to get advance tickets also.
When asked about this year's ticket situation, Mr. Gerald Hug said, "We are pushing advance ticket sales. There are three performances with all seats reserved. The prices are $1.50 and $2. Attendance is always very good. We would like a packed house every night."
The performances of Annie Get Your Gun will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 19, 20, and 21. There will be a matinee for grade schools and junior high schools on Wednesday, March 18.
