In Council

An open letter to the Student Body:

The students of Maine West have often called Student Council a farce with and without reason. After last year, however, few people can or will say that Council is a farce; but many are still dissatisfied with the organization. Many Council members are also dissatisfied and want to make Student Council a truly representative organization. We want to become your spokesman to the administration in order that we can work with the administration to make Maine West a better school for everyone involved, especially the students.

That goal is possible only if you, the students, communicate your ideas to your representatives. The only way we know what to try for is for you to give us yours, through your homeroom representative or the suggestion box (located in R‑102). We will then give your idea(s) to the entire student body or directly through the proper channels, depending on the nature of the idea. We will continue to improve the effectiveness of Council in meeting your needs. You've got to communicate, though; we are listening.

Sincerely,
Amy Robertson Secretary
