'Westerner' Exposes Pollution

There have been many people who have done something about cleaning up their environment. Even if it's using a litter bag instead of the street, it does make a difference. It shows that some do care. But many people still do not.

Everyone is tired of hearing what should be done. Then why doesn't it get done? (They're sick of hearing that, too). We can't just push the problem off on someone else, (say by putting pressure on factories, admittedly the major cause) without first caring what we do ourselves.

The past three issues of the Westerner have contained pictures of pollution right here in exciting Des Plaines. We hope this exposes the dirt in Des Plaines enough that something is done about it. Des Plaines may not be another Chicago, but it doesn't have to be as dirty.
