Wandering Warrior

Question: What new courses would you like to see offered at Maine West?

Robin Opfer & Sue Kerzek '73 ‑ Yoga in gym class, because it teaches you discipline.

Susan Carlson '72 ‑ A medical course to prepare people who want to be doctors and nurses for pre‑med school.

Nancy Evans '73 ‑ Auto mechanics for girls, because it's good to know how a car runs.

Sheryl Provenzano '73 ‑ Song writing, because I like to write poems and transfer them to guitar music. It could help people get into meanings of music.

Tim Corocoran '72 ‑ Pornography I, because it's enlightening.

Dawn Ishima '71 ‑ Oriental history ‑ because it's just as beneficial to the students as "black" history or "white history.

Jan Jaeckle '71 ‑ I think MW should have a marriage course to make kids aware of just what they are getting into so they will never be sorry.

Linda Costagli '73 ‑ A coed, specialized gym class where you have a year of one sport so that you get more practice and you are competing against girls and guys!

Holly Schimka '72 ‑ Sensitivity training. This place really needs for the people to get together and that will help everybody to understand each other better.

Chris Bouchee '73 ‑ A longer lunch period because you do not get enough time to fill up.

Jayne Henry '73 ‑ Photography III. It's a good subject, and I think it would help a lot of students if they went into it deeper.

Carol Crowther '72 ‑ I would like to see elective gym classes for juniors and seniors. Time gym classes spent on different types of activities in any of the areas. But I do think that one session of swimming should be mandatory.

Bob Martin '73 ‑ Various courses in Indian dialects, because there are such beautiful languages. I think that the students of Maine West should be given the advantage of taking such a course.

Bob Scarola '72 ‑ Radio and T.V. II. I've taken radio and TV and I found that I enjoyed it. I also see some form of radio or TV as my career, so I'd like to get more experience in this field.

Joyce Koleper '72 ‑ Conversational language classes where no books are used, because it would make language classes much more interesting.

Jan Pintacura '72 ‑ An extended course in mythology, because the mythology offered in English classes isn't extensive enough.
