Tickets are still available for the final performances of The Miracle Worker tonight and tomorrow night in the school auditorium at 8 p.m. The cost of tickets is $1.50.
School will be dismissed at 3:27 on Friday, May 28, for the Memorial Day weekend. Classes will resume on Tuesday, June 1.
During the week of May 17‑21, tests were taken by students of advanced placement classes. These tests are taken with the hopes of obtaining future college credit in that specific area.
On Monday, May 17, exams given were English and chemistry, and Tuesday, mathematics, calculus, and European history. American history and Spanish tests were taken on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively; and on Friday, German and biology classes were tested.

Fellowships for study this summer have been granted to two Social Science teachers at Maine West, Miss Mary Ingram and Mr. William Kiddle. Both were chosen on the basis of their high level of qualifications.
Miss Ingram will take part in the Robert A. Taft Institute of Government Seminar, taking place at Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr. Kiddle will participate in the Seminar for Teachers of History, sponsored by the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, and will spend the summer in India.
Miss Ingram will attend the seminar from June 7 through June 25. Mr. Kiddle will take part in an orientation program conducted by Dr. Seymour Fersh, education director of the Asis Society, and then depart on the twenty‑first.
Doug Lauffenburger '71 has been awarded a $1,000 National Honor Society Scholarship. He was one of 185 graduating seniors in the United States to receive such an award.
Members of the Maine West chapter of the National Honor Society nominated Doug for the scholarship. The points of leadership, scholarship, character, and service were then taken into account as his nomination was considered.
