Although it's May, many clubs and organizations at Maine West have already begun planning for next year. In each club there are officers to elect, a set of rules to establish, and plans to make for events that will begin as early as September. Such is true of the following clubs.
It took four different ballots, but finally a president was chosen for the National Forensic League. Kurt Klein '72 was elected, along with Russ Jacoby '72 as vice-president, and freshman Vicki Richardson as secretary. Kurt explained his new policies of N.F.L., "Next year, I hope to improve relations with President's Council and see that N.F.L. plays a more important role in school affairs. I also predict that next year we will be at the National Honor Society in our annual basketball game!

Four juniors were chosen to direct the Senior Class next year. Those elected were Ken Piest, president; Jan Rizzo, vice‑president; Jenny Jobst, secretary; and Mary Paroubek, treasurer.
Kathy Jordan and Janice Pintacura were elected as the co-presidents of Quill and Scroll. Quill and Scroll is the international honorary society for high school journalists.
At the Ski Club banquet four new officers were chosen. Sue Kern '72 was elected president, Merry Kelly '72 as vice‑president, Deb Peterson '73 as secretary, and Debby Maday '74 as treasurer.
On May 18 the Girls' Recreation Association held their annual banquet. Cindy Brodie, Denise Bell, Bonnie Serone, and Kathy Sahs were elected as president, vice‑president, secretary, and treasurer, respectively.
