After 20 years of service Mr. William Ludolph, English Department chairman, has resigned as of the end of the current school year. His position will be filled next year by Mr. John Graef.
Mr. Herman Rider, principal, when asked about Mr. Ludolph's retirement, made the following comments: "I am certain that I speak for the members of the English Department and Mr. Ludolph's many friends in Maine Township when I say that his contribution to the educational program of the township has been outstanding. We will long remember the sincere, friendly manner in which he worked so capably with students and faculty members during his years of service.

"I believe the resolution offered by Mr. Norman Ladd (Mathematics Department chairman) during the May department chairmen's meeting clearly expresses the true feelings of Mr. Ludolph's colleagues."
The department chairmen stated: "We, the department chairmen at Maine West, would like you to know that over the years your skillful handling of the English Department has greatly impressed us. Your honesty, your dedication to Maine West High School, and your tact and skill in dealing with staff members have been models for us all. We will miss your cheerfulness, your positive attitude, and your cooperative spirit. In whatever you do, we wish you well."
