Clubs Announce New Members

Announcement of outstanding members of clubs during the past year and new members for next year took place at various banquets, informal get‑togethers, and meetings held during the past few weeks. Plans for next year's activities and goals were outlined and happenings of the past year were reviewed.


Six new members of the Sophomore and Junior Class Council's have been announced. New officers for next year's Junior Class, graduating in '73, are Cheryl Kueker, president; Gail Singer, vice‑president; Jan Gibbert, secretary; and Mary Hertenstein, treasurer. New officers for this coming Sophomore Class, graduating in '74, are Jeanne Wolf, president; Becky Gunther, vice‑president; Grace Wright, secretary; and Sue Jobst, treasurer.

Mr. Daryl Schultz presented awards to Maine West members of WMTH at the annual WMTH banquet held at the Scanda House on May 26, commemorating WMTH's eleventh year of service to the community and students of Maine Township. Outstanding Member Awards were given to Claude Meier '72, for most outstanding; Mike Weber '73, rock music director; Phil Robertson '71, easy listening music director; Greg Fife '71, sports director; Vern Wilson '71, chief engineer; Chris DeVoney '71, news director; Diane Gatsis '72, public relations; and Don Ridell '71, engineer.

Also at the WMTH banquet service awards were distributed to all members present. Awards were also given to members from Maine North, East, and South, and were presented by teachers from their respective schools. Guest speakers at the banquet were Miss Yvonne Daniels of WSDM Radio and Mr. Bill Jackson of WFLD‑TV, who spoke of their experiences in broadcasting. Thanks were extended to the members, and hopes of increasing WMTH's service to the school and community were voiced.
