Tri‑S will sponsor an Internation Simulation on Saturday, October 10, from 8 am, to 4:35 p.m. in C‑wing. It is a game designed to make students aware of the problems and decisions made by countries involving international affairs.
The Internation Simulation places fictional nations in an international setting. Students learn how to organize, to budget money, to sign treaties, and to stage warfare. They do everything adults would do without destroying the world.
Over 75 students have signed up to participate in the Internation Simulation. Students with a variety of interests are taking part, not only those interested in Social Science.

This is the first of two simulations Tri‑S will sponsor this year. The next Internation Simulation will be in spring. This is the sixth year Maine West has done this.
The Maine high school district was the first to test out the Internation Simulation and use it in this country. The Internation Simulation is a follow‑up from mock simulations used in universities. The Internation Simulation is also a preparation for U. N. week, October 19 through October 25.
Mr. Eric Edstrom, chairman of Social Science Department, stated, 'It is an important activity that allows students to plan, organize, and run an activity which teaches students decision making and the understanding of international politics."
