Open House will be held Tuesday, October 27, and Thursday, November 5. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 7 through 10 p.m. Parents whose names begin with A‑L are asked to attend on October 27, and those whose names begin with M‑Z are requested to come on November 5.
Mr. James Coburn, assistant principal, encourages attendance of at least one parent at the Open House because "it provides an excellent opportunity for parents and teachers to get to know each other." Parents will be asked to attend on the alternate evening if they can not make it on the assigned evening.
Student Council will provide guides who will be situated around the school for parents' use. Members of the Parent Teacher Council will be hosts. Their jobs will be to introduce the parents and teachers to one another. An estimated 4,000 parents a night are expected. Students will be dismissed early on the two days.

All of the armed forces of the United States, past and present, will be honored on November 11. Veterans' Day is a holiday for all students.
Teacher Institute Day, Tuesday, November 3, will be a free day for students. Teachers will take trips to various places which are related to their subject field, which are designed to broaden their knowledge in that field.
Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Tests (P.S.A.T.) will be taken on Saturday, October 24, for the price of $2, payable in the bookstore. The registration deadline is October 16.
American College Tests (A.C.T.) were taken on Saturday, October 17, for the price of $6. These tests are not a part of the required high school testing programs but are taken voluntarily by juniors and seniors.
All interested girls came to the Orchesis clinics on October 19, 20, and 21 held after school in C‑wing gym. Tryouts for the Modern Dance Club were held Thursday and Friday.
