Dear Editor:
It seems to me some teachers at Maine West think they are the only ones who give out homework and should receive all of their students' time. I'm glad they think they and their subjects are so important that we should drop all other assignments to fit theirs in and live up to their standards. It would be nice if certain teachers could consider time and involvement in the assignments they give.
Besides other classes, there are part‑time jobs, which take up a lot of time. Don't say, "Do it on the weekend." We've got to have some form of escape from school. Who likes to be spending their weekend at home or the library when they can be going out with girlfriends and boyfriends or drinking, etc.
Teachers, get together with your students and you'll get a lot more action and less static! When you have an assignment to give, consider how many and how close together they are due. We all know we're here to work, but take it easy!

Dear Editor:
We are writing you a letter about our opinion on the shorthaired, straight people in the school: you know, the rah rahs. I'm not saying I don't like them; it's just that I don't like what they stand for. I don't think the majority of the students and the faculty realize that we so called long‑hairs and greasers, are a part of this school system. Although we don't attend school football games and take our "girlfriends" to Nick's, this doesn't make us outcasts from our own school. Remember all you need is love.
Thank you for printing our point of view,
Terry Sexton & Tom Wright
