'Whispers of Winter' should be the best Christmas Formal," commented Carol Gigante '72, Student Council chairman of this year's dance. "Whispers of Winter" will be held on Saturday, December 19, at 8:30 p.m. and will end at 11:30. The price is $2 per couple.
Cheryl Kueker '73 is in charge of getting an orchestra, and refreshments will be taken care of by Jan Gibbert '73. The crown and flowers for the queen and her court will be taken care of by Adrienne Szczygiel '74 and Lori Rowells '73 will handle the publicity. A committee of three Sue Jobst '74, Cindy Atkinson '74, and Diane Vanderwarren '74 will plan the decorations for the auditorium. The elections for queen will be run by Carl Wells '73 and Kathy Dohse '73.

"Of Poems, Youth and Spring" will be a play presented at a speech contest by the Reader's Theater. Reader's Theater is basically a group which employs principles of oral interpretation. The plays they do are presented without specific costumes, scenery, or make‑up. They are done either with poetry or drama. The readers will compete at speech tournaments held on Saturdays.
The annual Christmas Concert will be held on December 11 at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Girls' Glee, Boys' Chorus, Choraliers, Girls' Ensemble, Concert Choir, and the Concert Orchestra will be featured. Tickets are $.75 for students and $1 for adults. Music Booster tickets will be honored.
"The Betty Crocker Search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow" was the title of the Home Economics contest held on December 1. All senior girls were eligible to enter. The winner from this school will receive a pin, along with recognition at the fashion show.
