The Westerner reporters have been interviewing students this week to try to get the opinions of a column which is presented each issue under the title of Morfit. Here is the reaction.
Chip Markoya '73 ‑ Morfit is a joke, and it's not worth the ink that is used to print it. Morfit is for a certain closed group of individuals and most of my friends, as well as myself, do not understand the relevance of these poor jokes.
Lynn Witkowski '73 ‑ It's really cool. It's the only place in the paper where other people know what's coming off before you do.
Diane Gatsis '72 ‑ I think Morfit is really a complete waste of space. It is only funny when you were involved in an instance that occurred. A lot of so called "jokes" are really private jokes that most of the kids do not understand.
Dave Beeson '72 ‑ I think it's funny sometimes. But they should have more stuff put in it.
Jo Ellen Humphreys '71 ‑ It's idiotic because the cute little witticisms are private jokes within the "in crowd." The majority of kids don't understand it.

Bruce Winclechter '74 Whatever it is, they'll find a cure for it.
Judy Walton '72 ‑ It's a waste of time. No one knows what Morfit is talking about unless they are talked about sometimes not even them.
The guys in eighth period PAR '71 and '72 ‑ Golly. Gee. It's nifty. It's just thwell, guys!
Joanne Gilbert '71 ‑ Although it used to be funny at times, it has not gotten sickening. Many times it looks like the whole thing was made up. They are senseless statements that allow a kid to have his name printed in the paper.
Barb Weaver '71 ‑ A waste of space. The space could be devoted to things more informative and of more interest to a greater number of students.
Chris Rapata '74 ‑ Morfit is a pretty good thing because it shows you the kids have a pretty good sense of humor and they can laugh at themselves when they see it in print.
Ed Weaver '73 ‑ I don't care for it because it's a personal insult to the people in it.
