G.R.A. Expands; Playnite Tonight

For those girls who never thought much about the Girls' Recreational Association, may be it's time to give this changed organization a second thought.

Lots of exciting things are happening in G.R.A. this winter. A new sport, fencing, has been added, and girls are learning the safety and equipment of fencing as well as its skills.

President Karen Hodorowski stated that participation has been fantastic ‑ much better than last year. An average of 112 girls come to G.R.A. meets weekly. Karen also feels that G.R.A. has improved over last year since they have better participation and more publicity and the executive board is working together very well.

Other activities taking place second quarter in G.R.A. are gymnastics club, gymnastics intramurals, volleyball, and badminton ‑ something for everyone.

When asked who can participate in G.R.A., Karen stated, "Any girl can come. G.R.A. is for all girls who want to have some extracurricular fun, and we do have a good time. You don't have to be highly skilled either."

G.R.A. meets almost every day after school. Schedules of the winter events have been printed, and any girl interested may obtain a list of the times, dates, and places for G.R.A. meetings from their Physical Education teachers. December 4 will be G.R.A. Playnight and all girls are welcome to come.
