Intramurals

The main event in this session of intramurals is the senior basketball tournament. The games are held in B‑wing gym after school.

Coach Dick Carlini's sixth period class has taken a big lead with a 4‑0 mark. Coach Ervin Geisler's ninth period class and Coach Thomas Frederick's ninth period class are in a deadlock for second place, boasting 2‑1 records.

A table‑tennis tournament will be one of the upcoming features of Intramurals. Also coming soon will be the junior basketball tournament.

Getting away from Intramurals, the results from the physical fitness tests have been released. The boys' P.E. classes took part in a group of events to test a person's athletic ability. These scores are based on a possible high of 600. Don Felz led the seniors with a score of 589. Bill Van Putte topped the school and the Junior Class, nosing out Felz with a 590. Jim Szabo scored high for the class of '73 with 587, while Don Myszka topped the frosh with a 563.

The Senior Class and the Sophomore Class each had 76 members who scored 500 or more points. The juniors were next with 75. The freshmen were low with 25.

A Park District sponsored basketball league got under way last night in the C‑wing gym. There are games at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 every Thursday night.
