Creative work from the three fields of writing, photography, and art will make up the second edition of the Maine West creative arts magazine. This year's deadline is January 29, 1971.
Any student is eligible to submit material for the magazine.
Literary work may include short stories, essays, fiction or non‑fiction, or anything else that fills the requirement of not more than 12 double spaced typewritten pages. Poetry may not exceed 60 lines. Handwritten material will be accepted only if it is neat.
Photographs should be unmounted, and drawings will not print well unless they are of high contrast, such as pen and ink, or block prints. Three‑dimensional work will be photographed, so there are no limitations.
Written material or photographs may be turned in to Mr. Donald May in A‑214, or to Mr. John Craigle in E‑104, and art work may be given to Mr. George Blanas in E‑105. All work should be labeled with the student's name, year, and homeroom teacher.
Cheri Wittbold, chosen as Des Plaines Junior Miss for 1971, will be competing for the title of Illinois Junior Miss December 26‑30, at Joliet, Illinois. This contest, unlike some others, emphasizes academic achievement and physical fitness.
