Maine West students desiring to mail Christmas cards to their friends, can do so free of charge this year. How? All cards brought to the Student Council Office, located in R‑103, will be delivered to any student attending any of the Maine Township High Schools. The cards will be given to the students in homeroom.
Deliveries have been made all week and will continue through next week. The envelope must include: the student's name, the homeroom teacher's name, the homeroom code and the homeroom room number.
A canned food drive has also been in effect this week. Proceeds will go to the poor people in Des Plaines who need food for Christmas.

More food will always be appreciated. A $10 certificate from Jewel or National will also accompany the basket of food to each family.
This Sunday, December 20, a group of students will go Christmas caroling at the Graceland Home and possibly other homes for the old.
Caroling will be from 3 until 4:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to go. See your homeroom representative for more information.
Public Relations Committee of Student Council is sponsoring these special Christmas activities. Chairman of the committee, Paulette Jados '71, says she feels there has been a lot of support for the Christmas projects, but hopes that the biggest turnout is for the canned food drive.
