Pat Baker '71 and Sandy Salerno '71 are playing the parts of Paul and Corie Bratter in the 1971 Senior Class Play. Barefoot in the Park will be presented on January 21, 22, and 23 at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $1.50 and there will be no reserved seats.
Barefoot in the Park, a contemporary play written by Neil Simon, is the story of a young, recently married couple w h o have just moved into their apartment after their honeymoon. Many complications arise which make the play quite interesting and amusing.
Mr. Robert Norris, faculty director, "I chose the play because I think Neil Simon is probably the wittiest and most clever writer in modern theatre."
Since this is Pat's first play, he is looking forward to it very much. "It's a great challenge," he said when asked how he feels about playing the part of Paul Bratter. "But the people are the most interesting part of the play ‑ including Mr. Norris. He's a great director."

Pat is taking creative writing, physical education, psychology, foods, Drama I and government this year‑of which his favorite is foods. He does not have any definite plans for the future, but thinks he may go to college and major in English.
When questioned about her role, Sandy said, "I like playing the part of Corie a whole lot! She is a strange person, and I like playing strange people although sometimes she's hard to play because she changes moods all the time."
Sandy has been in Bye Bye Birdie, Pajama Game, Noah, and the 1969 and 1970 V‑Shows. She plans to go to Northern Illinois University and major in drama.
Sandy commented, "I think the play will draw a crowd because it has a popular title. But I hope we do get an audience because I'm tired of playing to an empty auditorium."
Pat has the same hope for the play. "I think the play is funny, but it would be better if somebody were there to watch it," he said.
