Besides being an all‑conference basketball selection as a junior and lettering in two sports as a sophomore, what else makes Dennis Willison '71 one of the finest athletes Maine West has ever produced?
This basketball season he has led the basketball squad, which is state‑ranked, with a point average per game of approximately 20. Last year he was a consistent point winner for the track team as a high jumper and relay sprinter.
It takes more than physical ability to become a winner. Dennis has a mental attitude that also greatly increases his ability to perform with the grace and agility that makes him such a superb competitor.
Dennis recognizes the fine athletic staff at Maine West as one of the major factors of his success. "The coaches at Maine West are well qualified and

always trying to help individuals or different squads to improve themselves and help Maine West achieve recognition as an outstanding institution."
Dennis has received many college offers, but he is undecided as to where to go and what to do. Throughout his four years he has been active also in Student Council, Class Council, Brotherhood, and M‑Club.
With the basketball squad picked as pre‑season favorites for the Central Suburban League championship, Dennis' teammates consider him a sure bet for all‑conference selection again this year.
Willison considers the team to be "one of the best Maine West has ever produced. We have the ability and experience to become champions."
