Maine South Game To Mark Special
Weekend of Activities

Friday, February 26, is the day the Maine West Warriors will host the Maine South Hawks for the final basketball game of the season. A celebration weekend is being planned by the Organizations Committee of Student Council "to wind up the basketball season," says Donna Kuykendall '71, chairman of the committee.

During the week of February 22‑28, spirit buttons will be sold for $.15 reading "West is Best" and "Warrior Country." Having one of these buttons will admit Maine West students to the afterdance to be held Friday night from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. "Buy a button and save a dime!" says Sue Black '71, who is in charge of the button sales.

Without a button a $.25 charge will be required. The afterdance will feature the "Sky Harbor." Members of the group include Mike Maxa '71, Jan Jarvis '71, Bill Mueller '71, Paul Jados '71, Jay Jacobs '71, and Larry Kosiel '71.

Saturday morning, February 27, a Pancake Breakfast will be held in the Maine West cafeteria. Between 8 am, and 12 noon, pancakes, sausages, milk, and coffee, "all you can eat" will be served. A $1 donation for adults and a $.75 donation for children under 12 will be the price of admission. Tickets will

be available at the door. They will also be sold at all home games starting with tonight's game. Sales will continue during all lunch periods starting Monday, February 8. Tickets may also be purchased from any Student Council member.

"Wait Until Dark" will be the movie, starring Audrey Hepburn, that will be shown Saturday night to end the celebration weekend. The movie will be shown in the Maine West auditorium starting at 8 p.m. Admission will be $.50.

All proceeds from the weekend will be contributed to the Des Plaines Drop‑In‑Center, "Place for People," who will use the money to buy extra recreational equipment and their rent.

Donna Kuykendall went on to say, "We need the support of all the students and parents to make this a big success."

Other students involved in the preparation of this weekend are Bev Drews '71, who is in charge of the movie, and Dave Nelson '71 and Dave Arnswald '71, who are in charge of the pancake breakfast. Members of these committees are now at work attempting to make this celebration a memorable one.
