Maine West placed fourth out of eight competing schools as they participated in the Central Suburban League Conference meet held last Friday, February 19. The meet was held at Niles North.
Rich Dancaster '71 who works all gymnastics apparatus is Maine West's all‑around man. Approximately 40 boys compete in each event. Dancaster took a tremendous second place in the conference meet.
On the rings Dancaster earned a high score of 7.3 as he came in fifth place. On the parallel bars he took another high score, 7.4, as he placed seventh in the event.
Tom Jackson '71 is the team's side‑horse man. At the conference meet he placed fourth with a 7.8.

Dean Koltz '71, varsity highbar man, earned an overwhelming score of 8.0. Steve Schwab '72 earned a 7.4 and came in tenth place in floor exercise.
John Leer '72 is the musclemen's trampoline artist. Leer scored a high 7.3 as he came in eighth place.
Maine West's musclemen also participated in a tn‑school meet on February 12 with Glenbrook North and Niles West. They finished with a score of 108.04.
The next day, February 13, the musclemen defeated Niles North in routine competition.
In competition earlier this month Maine West defeated Niles West with a score of 111.34 on February 6. Niles West closed with a score of 84.60.
